Consider taking film footage when you are on vacation. You never know when your family or class reunion might be held in one of the cities that you have visited.

Vacations give a videographer the opportunity to take some really good stock film footage that could be used in future projects.

One of the secrets to creating a great reunion video is to include film footage that helps tell your story. This footage may include the following:
water towers with the name of the city/town
signs with the name of the city/town
a city/town welcome sign
a skyline (how many times have you seen a skyline and said, that’ s New York?)
a unique bridge (such as the Golden Gate Bridge)
a stadium (The Silver Dome)
a riverboat if it’s a riverboat (The Delta Queen)
a casino (Excalibur)
racetrack (Indianapolis 500)
buildings unique to the city/town
city/town statutes and sculptures
city/town landmarks
the hotel, country club, club house, etc., where the reunion is held

Don’t forget to film the layout of the event, the room or hall in which the event is held, film of the program, logo, mascot, etc. Consider taking stock footage of as many different things that you see related to the reunion. I would suggest that your film not include people. Why? Because you may need their permission to use the film.

When it comes time to assemble your video you will have a rich selection of stock footage from which to choose. You will have the added bonus of not having to pay anyone else for the footage or be concerned with copyright issue.

Most of all enjoy!
